Antique cast iron Gothic pattern bench professionally cleaned and repainted black. American late 19th or early 2oth century. This design was patented in 1846 by the Carron Foundry of Scotland and patented in the U.S. in 1848. It is often called the "Rose Garden" pattern since it has been used on the White House grounds since 1854. 36"H. 46"W. 21"D.
