Description: Antique classical carved mahogany Boston pier table with original Egyptian black and gold marble top over flame veneered mahogany apron, cabriole legs with finely carved ancanthus leaves, resting on platform backed with original mirror plate. Circa 1825. Boston 37H. 42 1/2W. 19D.

Description: Important carved and gilt-decorated mahogany pier table, Philadelphia, circa 1830, attributed to Anthony G. Quervelle (1789-1856). This piece has the Quervelle characteristics of classical gilt stencil decoration, columns with gilded carved capitals, pie-shaped shelf profile with circle of gilt decoration, the original mirror framed in gilt stenciling, and gilded melon carved feet. Original white marble top. Owner's label mounted inside frame: 'Owned by Sabina Catherine Escher B. 1791 D. 1862. Wife of Johan Nicholas Baurvon Sachsen'. 37in H. 42in W. 19 3/4in D. This table is illustrated in the 2008 issue of 'American Furniture' The Chipstone Foundation Journal, Luke Beckerdite Editor, in the article 'Philadelphia Pier Tables and Their Role in Cultures of Sociability and Competition' by Nicholas C. Description: New York mahogany D-shaped card table, attributed to Duncan Phyfe, 1830-40. This is a classical New York pedestal based card table in the Restauration taste, with beautiful figured veneers, superb construction, turreted feet, and the original marbelized lining paper. The folding top swivels open to a well with original lining paper. The masterful construction includes: four rear edge tenons to align top when opened, exceptional figured veneers, corner of frame with saw cuts to make stronger top, iron rods and bolts to secure frame, vertical cylinder feet. 30in H. 36in W. 18in D.

Description: Round cast iron tilt top table with decorative border around the top, over ornate baluster pedestal base ending in tripartite feet. The hinged top tilts and locks upright for display or storage. Signed in two places in the casting: 'Rudy Groeger', probably name of foundry maker. Late 19th century. This form was called a center or conservatory table in the 19th century and was placed in a garden or conservatory with chairs for serving light fare. This table form was illustrated in many 19th century iron foundry trade catalogs. American. 29 1/2 inches high, 28 inches wide. 48 inches high when tilted. Description: 19th century cast iron pierced round top garden or conservatory table with open work tilt top decorated with astrological symbols, over center pedestal resting on tripod base. This form of garden table was listed in the 19th century foundry catalogs as a 'Conservatory' table. Circa 1860-1880. American. This table is beautifully cast with exceptional detail in the design. Description: Baltimore pedestal based carved mahogany card table with reeded edge single board top, flame veneered apron, center pedestal with urn and ring turnings, over four sabre legs with deep pointed reeding, resting on brass paw feet on casters. 1815-1830. Constructed from the best of mahoganies, this is a beautiful heavy table. The bold pedestal form was very fashionable in Baltimore in the early l9th century. 29 1/2in H. 37 1/2in W. 18 1/2in D. Description: Baltimore carved mahogany pedestal based card table with veneered rotating top, over ringed pedestal column with beautifully carved lobed vase, resting on sabre legs with deep reeding, ending in large brass paw feet on casters. The best of mahoganies was used in this heavy table. This bold pedestal form was very fashionable in Baltimore in the early l9th century and the design was used for card tables and also for high style dining tables, pembroke tables and writing tables by all the leading cabinetshops. 29 3/4in H. 38in W. 19in D. closed.
