Richard Bailey received a Ford Foundation grant to study at the Art Students League in New York and apprenticed and worked with Jose de Creeft, famous Spanish sculptor of the Alice in Wonderland bronze life-sized sculpture in New York Central Park. He then worked and studied in Carrara Italy and in marble quarries in Vermont. This whimsical sculpture would add interest to any garden.
