Description: Classical form campana or bell shape cast iron two part urn. This shape comes from Greek vases of the fifth and sixth centuries B.C. in Greece. This urn with its egg and dart lip and fluted body sits on it original plinth. It has been professionally cleaned and repainted black. Early 20th century. 27 inches high, 15 inches wide and 10 inch square base.

Description: Antique cast iron post in the form of a swan's head with long neck of feathers forming a graceful loop above a ribbed post. Cast in the round as a single solid piece, and having the original length. American, second half of 19th century. 63 1/2 inch high. This post could be paired with a matching swan post also listed #16038 to make a pair of swan hitching posts.

Description: Antique terrarium, three part, Gothic design with decorative metal trim and original rings to lift off top, frame with finial decorations, on original wrought iron base. Circa 1900. Has cracks in end glass in top piece but glass is very stable and would be difficult to replace because of the iron trim. Shown in photo. 45 inches high, 19 1/2 inches wide and 11 1/2 inches deep.

Description: Very rare small size cast iron rabbit garden ornament or doorstop, late 19th or early 20th century. These rabbits were called "Wide Awake Rabbits" and were shown in 19th and early 20th century American foundry cast iron garden catalogs and illustrated as garden ornament. But very few foundries made graduated sizes of this rabbit form so this small size is rare. 9 1/2 inches high, 8 inches deep and 5 inches wide. SOLD

Description: This "Gothic" pattern cast iron bench or settee design was patented in 1846 by the Carron Foundry of Scotland and was copied by many American foundries and patented in the U.S. in 1848. The Gothic name comes from the arch design of the back. It is often called the "Rose Garden" pattern since it has been used in the White House Rose Garden and on the White House grounds since the 1850's. This bench had multiple layers of old weathered paint and now has been professionally cleaned and repainted. It dates late 19th century or very early 20th century. It measures 36 inches high, 46 inches wide and 20 inches deep.

Description: Pair of monkey musicians garden statues, antique cast stone with marble aggregate and weathered surface with lichen. One is playing a tambourine and one is playing a drum and both are dressed in fashionable 18th century costumes. These are very well modeled figures with fine detail. Very early 20th century. 23 inches high, 12 inches wide and 10 inch square base. These monkey musician figures are after the 18th century porcelain monkey figures created by Johann Kaendler of the Meissen Porcelain Manufactory in Saxony in 1756. These also could be used as figural finials on gate posts or pillars which would be amusing and unusual in a garden. Examples of this exist at "Mount Stewart", the 1820 historic estate east of Bellfast,Ireland where there are dodos and monkeys bearing urns on their heads mounted on tall pillars displayed in the gardens.

Description: Antique "Rustic" pattern cast iron garden bench or settee in design of oak branches, leaves and acorns with the end supports of entwined snakes. 19th century American. This is a beautiful example of one of the earliest botanical patterns cast in iron, originally in England, as early as 1840, and then immediately copied by American foundries. This pattern is often mistakenly called "Twig". In old white paint this naturalistic designed seat would be a beautiful focal point in any style garden. 31 inches high, 35 inches wide and 21 inches deep

Description: Antique wire work rectangular form settee with wrought iron frame, of heavy crimped wire, with square back and sides decorated with scrolls and circles and sitting on square feet. Circa 1900. Heavy wire was extremely popular for many forms of garden furniture such as plant stands, tables and chairs, settees and arbors during the late 19th century into the early 20th century. This heavy garden settee has several layers of old paint. It is a good size to place in many areas to give a light airy garden look and a comfortable seat. 33 inches high, 44 inches wide and 20 inches deep.

Description: Antique wire and wrought iron heavy garden bench with arched back, scroll work decoration and curled feet, and with remains of old flaking and crusty white paint. Most of original zinc coating or galvanizing remains on bench to prevent rusting. This bench could easily be wire brushed of old paint and repainted any color to make a decorative addition to any garden setting. 39 inches high, 46 1/4 inches wide and 19 inches deep. Late 19th or very early 20th century.
