This design was patented in 1846 by the Carron Foundry of Scotland and patented in the U.S. in 1848. Early 20th century. American. This botanical pattern was originally registered in 1870 in England by the Coalbrookdale Foundry and then copied by American foundries. The Fern pattern was one of the earliest naturalistic designs. Found in southern estate. Each piece of this set has been professionally cleaned and painted gloss black.
