Description: Pair high back steel woven wire work garden chairs, heavy weight with large oval seats bordered with a zig zag pattern apron, on shaped legs resting on curled feet. These elegant chairs make a graphic statement in any garden, garden room or porch setting. 41 1/2 inches high, 18 inches wide and 18 inches deep. Mid 19th century in America the machines were invented to extrude heavy steel wire which was first used for fencing and then elaborate garden pieces such as chairs, tables, plant stands, trellis etc. which were extremely popular into the 20th century for use indoors and out.
