Antique horse head hitching post, hollow cast in the round as a single piece with horse head finial and curly mane, lobed capital with two rings over fluted column above a scroll base with lion heads. Painted gloss black. 49"H. 8"W. This post is illustrated in "Horsing Around 19th Century Cast Iron Hitching Posts" #70. and is labeled J.W. Fiske N.Y. in the casting.
