Rare antique Asian wicker and bamboo sedan chair with wicker pillow headrest and side compartments. This is a chair designed to be carried by poles on each side by porters. See photo. Note that the iron brackets to hold wood poles are mounted on each side, but poles are missing. Removable seat has custom Thai green silk cushion. Circa 1890- 1900. 42 inches high, 27 inches wide and 28 inches deep. This chair would be a charming focal point in a Asian or garden room setting.
