Description: American antique cast iron garden bench in the Curtain pattern with three panel back, openwork seat and scrolled arms, circa 1870-1900. This exotic design is a combination of Renaissance Revival and Gothic influences and was very popular at the end of the 19th century and was cast by all the major foundries. This bench is in excellent condition except for a replaced front apron by a decorative cut out iron piece, well installed. Side aprons are original. 35 inches high, 44 inches wide and 15 1/2 inches deep. $750. A good buy.

The William Adams Foundry in Philadelphia was a major ornamental iron work foundry operating from 1872 to 1929. These would be installed in horse stalls in a horse stable barn. 72 inches high and 26 inches wide.

This unusual jockey figure has been cast in a side viewing stance, with the original hitching horse ring in its hand, and stands on its original plinth. It has been professionally cleaned of a few remains of old yellow paint, primed and is ready to be painted in colorful silks. Description: A large campagna-form antique cast iron garden urn on original plinth. 42 inches high and 23 inches wide. 20 square base. With a egg and dart lip and a fluted and lobed bowl, the urn sits high on a large square decorated plinth in old terra cotta color paint. This traditional form of garden urn with its upturned bell shape relates to early Greek vases from antiquity. Over the centuries single large urns have often been placed in the center of a garden as a focal point to be admired as an object of taste and refinement.

Has pointed wire work borders, fancy scroll work and curved legs to make an exceptional antique wire plant stand. Professionally cleaned and painted black. Mid to late 19th century. By the mid 19th century iron foundries making furniture took advantage of technological advances in the manufacture of metal by using reinforced steel wire to make elaborate chairs, benches and tables that would withstand climate conditions and thus were ideal for outdoor use.

Description: Antique round wire-work plant stand with intricate patterned border at the top, and scrolled and curled wrought iron legs ending in curled feet. In the 19th century machines were invented to extrude wire that was first used for fencing and then fanciful wire-work garden items such as plant stands,chairs and gazebos which became very popular for use in interiors and exteriors in the Victorian period. The foundries featured them in their catalogs along with cast iron urns and seating. This is a heavy round wire plant stand of that period. The round form is unusual. It has been stripped, primed and repainted a light green. 32 inches high 27 1/2 inches wide.
