Description: Marble sculpture of reclining cat in King of Prussia marble, the Pennsylvania stone quarried north of Philadelphia 1790-1860, having distinctive white with blue-grey striations. Description: Unusual classical form zinc urn and custom cover, with bronze finish. Cast with fine detail with large lobed bowl with egg and dart lip. Custom ceramic cover has fine leafage detail with pine cone finial. In the 19th century cast iron urns with covers were often called 'winter urns'. They are rare to find today. Early 20th century. Height with cover 26 inches. Height without cover 14 1/2 inches. Base 10 1/2 inches. $350.

Description: Three piece cast iron set in the fern pattern, wide 55 inch bench and two ample arm chairs, curved shaped seats, with indecipherable foundry name on rear of each piece. Early 20th century. American. Found in southern estate. The fern pattern was one of the earliest naturalistic designs originating in England with the Coalbrookdale Company in the mid 19th century and immediately copied by American foundries. Bench 33 inches high and 55 inches wide. Each chair 33 inches high and 24 inches wide.

Description: Pair of carved stone finials in form of monkey heads, in old paint. Unusual for garden sculpture or finials for pillars. 15 inches high, 9 inches deep and 6 1/2 inches deep. These could be used as figural finials on gate posts or pillars. Examples of this exist at 'Mount Stewart' the 1820 historic estate east of Belfast, Ireland where there are dodos and monkeys bearing urns on their heads mounted on tall pillars displayed in the gardens. Description: Chinese reverse painting on glass of young boy playing with frog, in original frame and wood backing. Very early 20th century. This was called 'verre eglomise' after a Parisian picture framer Jean- Baptiset Glomy (d. 1786) who used a technique of painting on the reverse of glass, originally attributed to the Chinese. This is a charming and unusual scene of a child playing in a landscape with a frog, with a mirror background. Excellent condition. SOLD
